Some Myths And Facts Worth Knowing About Chocolates

healthy diet and weight loss tips
There isn’t any person alive today that wouldn’t eat a piece of chocolate when he or she is offered one. They are indeed sweet treats that are quite hard to resist.

However, even if chocolates are popular treats and ingredients in various recipes, there are still many misconceptions about them. Below are some of the myths and facts about chocolates everyone should know about:

Chocolates are highly addictive. There is no scientific evidence to prove that chocolate can cause physical addiction. According to experts, a person’s feelings about chocolate can dictate their behavior since one can associate eating it with comfort, reward, and celebration. Because of this connection, you may feel that you need this treat and hence, find it difficult to control how much you will consume.

Chocolate will give you energy. A lot of people turn to chocolates if they are looking for a burst of energy. Although chocolate does contain small amounts of caffeine, this amount is usually not enough to keep you awake or feel active. If you’re hungry or looking for something to perk you up, experts say you should eat a snack that provides sustained energy release such as an apple or even a small sandwich.

Dark chocolate is better than milk chocolate. In general, dark chocolate contains more cocoa solids and cocoa butter than milk chocolate. However, the amount of polyphenols the product contains will still depend greatly on how the chocolate is processed; as such, it’s not necessarily always better. This is because during the manufacturing process, cleaning, fermentation, roasting time and temperature, “dutching”, and the addition of extra ingredients to the cocoa such as emulsifiers and sugars can almost completely remove polyphenols from the dark chocolate.

Methods Of Paying Bail

Reliable seasoned bail agents in CA
People who are arrested on suspicion of committing a crime are released from custody until the trial when they post bail. Bail pertains to an amount of money or property given to the court to ensure the defendant will return for their scheduled court appearances.

In general, the cost of bail will vary based on various factors. This usually includes the type of crime, the jurisdiction, and the defendant. Normally, the more likely the defendant is a flight risk (meaning that he or she will run and hide instead of face trial) and/or a danger to the community, the higher the bail. Bail cost can also go higher or lower if the defendant hires a bail bondsman to "post" bail on his or her behalf.

Bail can be paid through the following ways:

Paying the court directly

If the defendant is capable of paying the full amount of bail in cash directly to the court, the bail will be returned to the bailer at the end of the proceedings less the administrative fees). If the defendant does not appear in court, the bail money will be forfeited.

Pledging property

In certain jurisdictions, the court may permit defendants to put up property as collateral instead of cash bail. The person offering the collateral though may be required to have equity in the property greater than the bail amount. The process of bailing a defendant out of jail with a pledge of property can take longer, usually even weeks.

With the assistance of a bail bondsman

A bail bondsman or bail or bond agent will provide the court with a “surety bond” if the defendant does not have money or property for bail payment. This surety bond is a promise to pay the court if the defendant fails to appear during the hearings.

Leading lawn care and tree service provider in IL
Trees are living and breathing large organisms. As such, they require nutrients and care if you want to them to stay healthy and beautiful. And just like other living organisms, if they become unhealthy, they will be prone to certain diseases.

Below are some of the most common types of tree diseases:

Root and Butt Rot disease

Armillaria, Hypoxylon deustum, and black root rot are three of the most common types of root and butt rot disease that can infect hardwood trees at their roots and butt- the base of the tree’s trunk at ground level. They appear as black, leathery fungus, much like the viral Serpula himantioides fungus, and spread up the tree’s trunk from the ground. Mushrooms can also appear and grow in the soil at the base of the tree. This disease can decay the root of stressed trees.

Canker disease

This type of disease comes in three common forms: Cytospora, Nectria, and Phomopsis. They look like canker sores on a tree’s bark or branch, hence its name. This disease usually infects pine, poplar, spruce, willow, maple, oak, juniper, and Douglas fir trees, among others. The usual cause of this disease is an open wound on the tree’s branches or bark that has become infected with a specific type of bacteria or fungus.

Powdery Mildew disease

This disease comes in the form of a white or gray powdery growth that looks like talcum powder on the leaves. A particular type of fungi under the Erysiphale classification causes this tree mildew disease. This disease can infect attack nearly all types of vegetation in the right conditions but it is a particular problem among unhealthy linden, crabapple, catalpa, and chokeberry trees.

Treadmills – A Vital Equipment for Animals Too

Generally, we think of treadmills only as a machine for exercising. A machine you often see in the gym for stationary walking or running. However, treadmills have many kinds and uses.

Did you know that treadmills were once used as punishment equipment? Rather than the exercising equipment r we now know today, treadmills before were used to facilitate manual labor like grinding grain by powering the mill. Being operated manually by either animals or humans, prisoners who are sentenced to do hard labor in the earlier times power up treadmills.

Nowadays, there are various models of treadmills and each one has different purposes such as training machine, medical equipment for diagnosis and therapy, and other activities involving animals.

Yes. Animals use treadmills as well.

In fact, horses use them as training equipment. Horses, especially those for racing, are tested on specially constructed treadmills as part of their preparation for the competition.

Dogs use treadmills, too, particularly those who are used to running on a conveyor. They use treadmills to exercise.

There are also different models and designs of medical treadmills for dogs and other pets.  Many animal experts like veterinarians and animal rehabilitation centers even include underwater treadmill therapy in their services.

Some Facts About The Sleeping Patterns And Behaviours Of Dogs

complete online source for all your pet’s needs
Pet owners certainly spend a lot of time with their dogs. They play with, groom, and feed their canine friends. A lot of them will also even sleep with their pups.

If you’re new to taking care of a dog, having your pet get enough sleep is essential for keeping them healthy and happy. Below are some facts worth knowing about a dog’s typical sleeping pattern and behaviours:

• Dogs will usually sleep for at least 13 hours daily. This would also vary according to the dog’s specific breed but in general, a dog is likely going to be asleep for almost half of his or her life.

• All dogs are inclined to circle their sleeping area before lying down to snooze. If the dog is feeling cold, he or she will curl up in a ball, to conserve body heat. And if they are feeling warm, they will tend to stretch out their body while lying down.

• When there is an increased or unusual amount of activity around them, dogs will instinctively and immediately wake up. If a dog is however deliberate woken up or heedlessly disturbed, the canine may react aggressively and even bite the person/s around him or her without warning. A dog that was woken up at an unusual time may also be a bit unwilling to settle down or sleep again immediately.

• Lastly, many dogs may prefer to lie against a wall or next to their owner's feet. Most dog experts say this is probably a way for them to receive an additional sense of security, safety, and acceptance.
