Shoring
This is a process
done to support any structure that you wish to repair or alter. The technique
uses shores or props to ensure that buildings, trenches or even ships are well
supported before any construction activity is done. Vertical, angled, or
horizontal, shoring is commonly used during excavation, foundation of building
installation, and other repairs.
Scaffolding
This is another
process that provides support to materials and workers during construction or
repair. But this technique uses temporary structures like the modern modular
tubes or metal pipes or even the ancient favorite wood and bamboo.
House raising
Also called house
lifting or house jacking, the purpose of this process is to separate a
structure from its foundation by raising it using equipment like screw jacks or
hydraulic. House renovation may require house raising in order to build a
better foundation or simply raise your house to be safe from flooding.
Box crib or cribbing
Another way to support objects during is cribbing. This uses a wooden
structure. Commonly used in construction, rescue operations, relocation and
even vehicle extrication.
Jack post
This is a steel post used in shoring and other construction purposes. It
comprises of the main post and adjustable fitting on the end like a jack
screw.
Acrow Props
Another important
piece of equipment used for temporary support in shoring is this telescopic
tubular steel prop called acrow props. It is adjustable to get your desired height
through its large diameter screw thread. It is very easy to put it in position in
your construction projects.
