Today, the use of bicycles as a means of transportation is very common especially in the suburban areas. Since many people are now aware of the effect of pollution brought by cars, they opt to buy a bicycle to somehow help and do their share in protecting and conserving the environment. But what is really the origin of the bicycle?

The very first bicycle was recorded and introduced in the 19th century. Most people during that time use bicycles mainly for transportation. Today bicycles are no longer mainly for transportation but also for exercise and enjoyment.

Bikes- a short term for bicycles have now double in number when compared to cars. People who love to ride a bicycle are often called bike enthusiasts or cyclists. And these people often join competitions and organizations that help conserve the environment.
