- Canada Bluegrass. This fine-textured bluegrass is well adapted to cool climates in the North countries like Canada. It can survive even in poor soil and requires low maintenance.
- Kentucky Bluegrass. With over 200 varieties, it is a popular choice residential lawns, athletic fields, parks and gold fairways.
- Rough Bluegrass. This is a bright green turf that is shallow rooted. Over the winter, it can retain its colour as it can survive without full sun.
- Perennial Ryegrass. Often used in playing fields and residential lawns, this quick-growing grass cannot take extreme temperature or drought.
- Fine Fescues. This is sometimes called creeping red. While these fine-bladed grasses have the narrowest leaves, they can be groomed into a nice lawn.
- Tall Fescue. This is a tough grass with a fairly deep root system. It is also a good low-maintenance choice as it tolerates high and infrequent mowing.
- Wheatgrass. This is a cool-season tough grass that requires less care. It makes a decent turf grass that wears well when not mown too short.
