What Is A Radiologist?


Today, most hospitals have radiologists. Radiologists are actually medical doctors as well who help other doctors find out the patient’s real health problem and an effective solution in treating this problem. They are doctors specializing in radiology which is a branch of medicine that uses medical imaging techniques such as MRI or magnetic resonance imaging, x-rays, CT or computed tomography, ultrasound and PET or positron emission tomography.

Radiologist went through a lot when it comes to education and internship. Before becoming a radiologist, you must graduate from a medical school, pass the licensing exam and complete a residency that includes post-graduate education such as radiation safety and protection, radiation effects and performance and interpretation of radiological and medical imaging tests.

Radiologists also have sub-specializations. This is to make sure that every patient gets the right interpretation of whatever health problem he or she is suffering from. These sub-specializations are the following:
