Some Of The World’s Most Expensive Curtains

leading window and wall décor experts
The prices of curtains differ variably, depending on their materials, design, style and size. But just like with other items, you will certainly find curtains that are really expensive. You probably won’t be able to get your hands on them because of their steep price but it’s definitely worth knowing about some of the world’s most expensive curtains. Below are some of these:

Marie Antoinette’s curtains.  The former Queen of France, Marie Antoinette, whose frivolous spending is said to have ignited the start of the French Revolution, designed some luxury and really expensive window coverings. Some of these can be found at the Fleur de Lys, one of the most expensive mansions in Los Angeles.

The Swarovski Crystal curtains.
The 2009 Academy Awards show got an extra dose of glitz and glamour due to a three-ton, 60-foot tall custom designed Swarovski crystal curtain, iridescent with over 100,000 crystals. It is said that this curtain never went for sale, probably due to the fact that it is too expensive and no one can afford it.

The curtains in Cleopatra’s Trailer. Cleopatra was a classic movie which starred Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. While shooting the film, a specially-designed trailer was given to Elizabeth Taylor for her use. This trailer features a set of silk curtains that hang in semi-circular patterns to form a barrier between the bedroom and the living area, an intended design added to make Taylor feel more like the illustrious Egyptian queen she was playing in the film.
